Transparency around mental health and suicide prevention work has no own logo or expression. I want to do something about that.
BACKGROUND FOR THE CONCEPT
"Take care of yourself" - a phrase you've surely heard, or said yourself. Perhaps you have also felt that you should take better care of someone yourself. A friend, a sibling, a child, a colleague. Being cared for is a feeling everyone should feel from time to time. But also taking care of someone gives a lot. With the idea TA VARE, I want to encourage both those who know they could have been better at taking care of others, to actually do so, as well as convey to those who need help that there is no shame in wanting to be taken better care of. Often a phone call, a kind word or an extra hug is enough.
Then I've indeed brought a wingman I think fits perfectly - Petter "uteligger" Nyquist. He is someone who TAKES CARE of those around him and he is damn easy to like. I think it is right that it is a well-known man who is helping to front this particular campaign. 7 out of 10 who take their own life are men. Not that this does not also apply to women, but Petter in particular is in everyone's hearts.
If you want to know more about this campaign or take part in TA VARE in some way, send me a mail at jarlehb@gmail.com and I will send you the entire presentation.
Small jacket pins visually inspired by the Love Hearts candy are the main idea of this nationwide campaign. This is the TA VARE concept.
